#OurNewCMH – Week One in the Ocean Tower

It was a busy first week in our new hospital! One of the first steps in the move-in and training process is to ensure that all of our physicians and staff complete Fire/Life Safety Orientation. This training begins in the Ocean Tower Cafe dining room and makes its way through the hospital, from the 6th floor back down to the 1st floor, highlighting important safety features and points of interest along the way.

Fire/Life Safety training covers evacuation routes, fire extinguisher and alarm locations, and general policies and procedures to keep our staff and our patients safe. Upon completion, each team member received a red badge sticker permitting them to enter the building and take part in additional training.

For many of our staff and physicians, this orientation was their first opportunity to see the inside of our new hospital and the areas in which they’ll be working. Over the next few months, each department will undergo extensive orientation and training in their new areas, and several additional hospital-wide training events known as “Day in the Life” trainings will occur.
